UPDATED-Pig Hunting November 2012-Late post with pics.

Well, I finally got my pic from Brian (RMA lead guide) from when me and him went fishing in November below Green Mtn. We had a great day. If you have never fished with Brian and ever get the opportunity, take it. He is the man! I figured that he would be helping me get into some fat trout on this day but I had no idea how he easy he would make it look.

To start, I have never fished this section of river below Green Mountain reservoir and head been asking Brian to take me for a while. When I showed up, I realized that I forgot my rod. IDIOT!!!

Luckily, we met at the fly shop and we both work there so we figured it out. I ended up using his 9'0" rod I believe. Either way, he started showing me this UV Knot eggs that he made. These things were crazy. He 'ties' them onto the wheel of tippet and leaves them attached to the tippet until you need it. Pretty genius actually. But do they work??

Oh yeah they do!!! So here is the deal. You tie an egg and a section of tippet on with a blood knot to your existing leader. Then, below the egg, you tie a stinger hook. Indicator goes down, set hook, snag trout in mouth. Beauty. Pretty similar to a walleye slip-rig, but these are for real fish, not aquatic boots. Tee-he-he.

Results: Some huge trout. Brian only got pics of me and this fatty which was pregnant and dumping eggs everywhere. The second pic is me fighting the fatty. I love this pic with the bridge in back.

Now there's some tight lines. If the tug is the drug, and it is, then I was feelin' alright.  Whew!!

After that hook-up, I managed two more nice rainbows, one being a bit bigger than this guy.

What a great day on the river. Thanks Brian Harris!~

Tight Lines!
