I haven't been out in a while (ever notice how many times my post starts that way; I will fix that) so I saw my b-day as the best opportunity to get out. I have been real busy at schmork (rhymes with work) and I just needed to get me some.
Boulder Creek and the fish gods were just happy that I got out. Cuz I got nothin. Nothin at all. Not even a bite. Granted, I put about zero effort in to my fly selection and the water temps were not favorable. I would think of another excuse but why bother. It was just a skunky kind of day. I was not happy all week about turning 37 so this was a fitting end.
On a lighter note, I got my new ride!!! Book a trip and I'll show it to you. Actually, I will post pics after I wash her up. It's a 99 Grande Cherokee with all the bells and whistles. Did you think I would buy anything but a Jeep. Hey if it's good enough to beat the Nazi's, it's good enough for me. Highlights: working things like windows and window defrosters. Locks. Stuff like that. Other highlights...space and sun roof. Summer trout...bring it on. Can't wait to get her first trout for her. Then we can start to properly form a relationship and then put some kill tags on it. (Looking back, me and the old Jeep had a great last date).
Now that I think about it, it's probably best that I didn't take my new girl out and catch one on her first trip out. The old Cherokee would not have been happy. So all in all, I guess karma has caught up to me. But with that new V8, I will catch back up soon...suckers.
